Western Australians ‘locked up like a bunch of chumps’ amid relaxed quarantine for Ashes

GT Communications' Gemma Tognini says the rest of Western Australians are “still locked up like a bunch of chumps” while Ashes players get relaxed quarantine rules.

It comes as the McGowan government plans to allow cricketers from the UK and Australia to quarantine for five days, instead of the 14 days every other Australian entering the state is subjected to.

“The observation I’d make is the Premier was aghast at the reaction, it was a savage, savage backlash to that proposal and he is quoted as saying ‘oh I can’t win’," Ms Tognini said.

“Well first of all it’s not about winning or losing, but you can win Premier by being consistent.”
