Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk will make an “important announcement” at Queensland’s latest coronavirus update on Monday at 1:30pm (AEDT).
The Sunshine State is yet to release its COVID numbers for the past 24-hour reporting period, with the regular 10:00am press conference delayed until after the cabinet meeting this morning.
State borders are understood to have been high up on the agenda as the Palaszczuk government faces mounting pressure to deliver a roadmap for Queenslanders out of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Across the state, 72.1 per cent of the over 16 population have received one dose of a coronavirus vaccine while 56.2 per cent are fully vaccinated, according to Sunday’s figures.
The state saw a massive weekend of vaccination following a targeted jab blitz across 33 Bunnings stores.
More than 34,000 Queenslanders rolled up their sleeves and got vaccinated over the weekend, the Queensland Department of Health announced on Sunday.
