Warning: NSFW for some bad language.

Most of us have been grumpy behind the wheel sometimes, but there’s a bit of a difference between swearing under your breath when someone doesn’t indicate and cuts in front of you and waving an axe out of the window.

That’s what Reddit user u/DexFPV experienced recently in Texas. Caught on a dashcam video posted to r/IdiotsInCars, the footage starts with an intersection before driving onto a highway. A later-model Nissan Skyline (badged Infiniti G35 in the States) comes into view, pulling in front of the driver and slamming on the brakes.

The driver swerves around the Skyline and speeds off in attempt to lose them. After a few seconds of sped-up video with the dashcam reading speeds of close to 100mph (160km/h), the road rager comes back into frame, this time brandishing an axe.

They cut across several lanes of the highway, before drifting back into the centre lane and collecting another vehicle.

The impact was hard enough to rip the bumper off the third car and send it flying down a ditch, into a bridge pillar. Our host driver pulls over to help the crashed vehicle and the footage ends.

The moment the axe-wielder collided with an innocent third party.

According to the Reddit post, the driver of the hit car was walking and talking after the accident. The poster also said that police had located the car in an AutoZone parking lot down the road, but the driver had fled.

Thankfully, it seems the police were already aware of the driver, as based on the user’s description, “they think they know who he is.”

We don’t know what happened before the video begins, so it’s possible the driver isn’t entirely squeaky clean, but there’s still no reason to pull out an axe. Plus, there’s the slight problem of being in a speeding vehicles… What are you going to do, throw it?
