Volcanic Ash Destroys Banana Greenhouse on La Palma


Video released on November 10 shows a banana greenhouse crushed by the weight of volcanic ash from the Cumbre Vieja volcano on the Spanish island of La Palma. The Superior Council of Scientific Investigations (CSIC) said the footage was filmed on November 3. The volcano began erupting on September 19. As of November 9, lava had covered 999.6 hectares, according to the European Union’s Copernicus satellite program.
