Queensland Deputy Premier Steven Miles has said he expects Federal Government “attacks” on the State Labor Government to escalate before the 2022 election.

“The Commonwealth are heading towards their own election, and they’re obviously looking to their own re-election,” he said.

“You should see it all through the prism of Scott Morrison’s own cynical politics.”

He said the relationship with the Federal Government had been mostly stable during the pandemic, but suggested the Coalition’s priorities had shifted.

“Part of that involves attacking us, attacking our government, attacking Queensland’s response to the pandemic,” he said.
