‘The evidence is there’: Russian oil import ban has the ‘support’ of US Congress

Sky News Washington Correspondent Annelise Nielsen says the "evidence is there" that US Congress "supports" a ban on Russian oil imports.

"We saw Nancy Pelosi say that she's happy to ban Russian oil imports into the country," Ms Nielsen told Sky News host Andrew Bolt.

"At the same time, they've negotiated a deal between Senate Democrats, House Democrats, Senate Republicans, House Republicans that she foreshadowed in her Dear Colleague letter, where they said they were going to ban Russian imports, they were going to tie it to things like kicking Russia out of the World Trade Organisation," she said.

"It seems that it's the White House intervening and the best indicator of that is what we saw from Jen Psaki's press briefing today."
