Sydney road tolls set to rise from Saturday

Sydney drivers are set to be hit by toll payment increases in nine motorways from Saturday, New Year’s Day.

The toll operator argues the revenue is funding projects and keeping people employed during the pandemic.

On Saturday, the M4 will go up by 35 cents to $8.87, and NorthConnex will increase to $8.44.

The Eastern Distributor will go up to $8.56 and the M2 to $8.45.

The M7 will be at $8.59 on Saturday and the M5 to $7.52, a 29-cent increase.

The Cross City Tunnel will increase to $6.06, Lane Cover Tunnel to $3.52, and the M8 to $7.52 once New Year’s Day hits.
