Private Jet Bound for Florida Crashes in Dominican Republic


A private plane carrying seven passengers and two crew members crashed at Las Americas International Airport (AILA) in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, on Wednesday afternoon, December 15, according to the company that owns the aircraft. In a statement issued via its social media accounts, Helidosa Aviation Group said it was still gathering information and collaborating with rescue agencies. According to local media, the plane departed from La Isabela International Airport in Higuero, on the northwest edge of Santo Domingo, and was bound for Orlando, Florida. After taking off, the pilot declared an emergency and the plane crashed onto a runway at Las Americas International Airport, to the city’s southeast, reports said.
