Tauranga Police continue their investigation into the death of five-year-old Malachi Subecz.

Police are urging anyone who saw five-year-old Malachi Subecz in the last few months to come forward after he died in Starship’s Children Hospital on Friday.

The young boy was taken to hospital on November 1 after he was found at a Te Puna home with serious injuries.

He was treated in Tauranga Hospital before being airlifted to Auckland.

After his death, police confirmed a homicide investigation had been launched.

Detective Senior Sergeant Craig Rawlinson said police were working to establish the circumstances of Malachi’s death.

”We would like to hear from anyone who may have seen Malachi over the past couple of months, and are particularly interested in speaking to anyone who is yet to speak with police,” he said.

Police encourage anyone with information that will assist our investigation to contact 105 and quote file number 211101/6453.
