Playing Daniel Andrews’ ‘divisive’ game brings us closer to ‘elected tyrannies’: Bolt

Playing Daniel Andrews’ game of “dividing and demonising” brings us even closer to elected tyrannies, according to Sky News host Andrew Bolt.

Mr Bolt referred to protests outside Victoria’s parliament house this week.

He said while there has been some who protested “disgracefully” – it is nonetheless wrong to say the few represent the many.

Mr Bolt accused Premier Andrews of deliberately lumping together the “crazies” who are against his new bill with the more reasonable opponents – which include the Victorian Bar and the Ombudsman.

“Criticise extremists who preach violence as I do, on both sides of politics – defend the principle, not just the side,” Mr Bolt said.

“And don’t hypocritically use a few extremists to vilify the many for your cynical political purposes.

“Dividing people and then demonising one side, setting the other against that one, creating hate – that is the Daniel Andrews’ way.

“Don’t play Daniel Andrews’ game – because god knows what hell we’re in for – when we turn on each other like that.”
