NSW records 301 COVID-19 cases as restrictions set to ease tomorrow

New South Wales has recorded 301 new COVID-19 cases and ten deaths a day before restrictions are set to ease again.

The state ticked over the long-awaited 80 per cent fully vaccinated target yesterday, unlocking a new set of freedoms that will take effect from tomorrow.

In NSW 91.9 per cent of people have had at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine,

It comes as the NSW Government has announced an $86 million package to support the arts.

Treasurer Matt Kean said the stimulus would support individuals and businesses to bounce back quickly and reignite the economy through their cultural offerings.

“We have all been champing at the bit to see films in cinemas, our local bands on stage and our favourite musicals in theatres,” Mr Kean said.

“This funding commitment will allow the arts and cultural sector to relaunch with certainty and confidence to deliver works that audiences have missed over the past year.”

NSW Premier Dominic Perrotte will also announce details of a significant mental health support package as part of the state’s post-lockdown path.
