NSW authorities update testing and isolation requirement for close COVID contacts

New South Wales authorities have updated testing and isolation requirements for close COVID contacts as infections reach a daily record high for the state at 2,213 cases recorded on Friday.

The measure is precautionary to avoid a lockdown over Christmas.

Close contacts must now isolate for seven days after getting tested, and for the next week, they are not to enter any high-risk venues.

They will also be required to get tested again on day 12, regardless of their vaccination status.
