Next steps in Cleo Smith investigation; 1247 new cases, nine deaths in Victoria; New COVID-19 case in Queensland town; NSW records 308 new local cases

Queensland has recorded three new locally-acquired COVID-19 cases.

All cases were from the rural town of Goondiwindi.

One case is a contact of a known cluster and Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said health authorities were “not concerned about that person”.

The second case was in the community for five days.

While the third was a woman in her 30s who was in the community for four days and had one dose of AstraZeneca.

Ms Palaszczuk urged residents of Goondiwindi to get tested if they displayed any symptoms.

She also reiterated her message for people to get vaccinated.

“If you are unvaccinated and the virus comes into your community, the virus will hunt you out,” Ms Palaszczuk said.
