Morrison appears ‘fixated on tomorrow’s headline’

Prime Minister Scott Morrison seems to focus on dealing with the “political issue of the moment” instead of having “key principles or long-term goals,” according to Sky News Darwin Bureau Chief Matt Cunningham.

The Australian is reporting the Prime Minister will launch a $1 billion investment fund to help fast track low-emissions technology in a bid to reach net zero emissions by 2050.

“There is something I think that has become clear over Scott Morrison’s prime ministership and that is that he really does appear very fixated on tomorrow’s headline,” Mr Cunningham told Sky News host Jenna Clarke.

“Trying to deal with the political issue of the moment seems to be more of his mantra rather than having any sort of key principles or long-term goals and I think that’s what you’re seeing play out here.

“He’s totally thrown out the Coalition’s position from 2019, he’s had a massive war with the Nats along the way and now he’s going completely the other way it would seem.”
