A day before his semi-finals performance at the Eurovision Song Contest in Turin, Israeli contestant Michael Ben David proposed to his boyfriend of four years on Wednesday.
The couple shared a video of their engagement from their hotel room in the northern Italian city.
Ben David and partner Roee Ram have been together for the past four years. The proposal, strategically timed, has caught the attention of the public and will have the international viewers smitten during his upcoming performance.
“In the most exciting time of my life where I’m representing my country on the biggest stage in Europe, I fulfilled another dream and asked the love of my life to marry me,” Ben David said. “I’m lucky.”
The first round of the contest’s semi-final kicked off Tuesday evening and saw Switzerland, Armenia, Iceland, Lithuania, Portugal, Norway, Greece, Ukraine, Moldova, and the Netherlands all book a berth in Saturday’s final.
