Matildas captain Sam Kerr has taken out a pitch invader in England in the most Australian of ways.

The superstar striker greeted the invader, who tried to take a picture with her Juventus opponent, with her shoulder in a no-nonsense approach while playing for Chelsea against the Italian team.

But while the result wasn’t great for the overeager fan, it was worse for Kerr, who was given a yellow card by the referee for knocking him over.

Kerr herself had a goal ruled out for offside shortly before the hour mark before her more dramatic moment came in the shadows of full-time and she laid out the pitch invader who was left sprawling on the ground.

Kerr was fronting up for Chelsea in a UEFA Women’s Champions League group A match at Kingsmeadow just days after scoring twice in the club’s FA Cup final win over Arsenal.

Her hip and shoulder was similar to the bump Australian cricketer Andrew Symonds laid on a streaker in a one-day international against India at the Gabba in 2008.
