Interstate travellers could bypass Western Australia

There are growing fears within the tourism industry interstate travellers could bypass Western Australia due to due to ongoing border uncertainty.

Western Australia announced it would reopen to other states once it reaches the 90 per cent double dose vaccination target.

Tourism operators say the unconfirmed date is causing more cancellations as they lose travellers to Queensland and the Northern Territory.

WA’s Tourism Council says the uncertainty could cause wider economic pain, warning hotels and hospitality venues will struggle to survive another summer.
