Gators vs Alabama Crimson Tide SEC Tournament photos

Florida baseball brought the lumber to Hoover, Alabama, on Saturday morning for its fourth-round SEC Tournament matchup with the Alabama Crimson Tide. With the Gators seeded No. 7 and ‘Bama No. 11, the Orange and Blue slugged its way into the next round, 11-6, to face the Texas A&M Aggies in a rematch of the second round of the tournament. Florida was shutout in that one en route to a mercy-rule finish in the seventh, 10-0.

Wyatt Langford led the way for Florida, kicking things off with leadoff home runs in the first and second innings before driving in another on a ground out to first base in the third. He also scored the go-ahead run in the sixth after drawing a full-count walk. Starter Anthony Ursitti was far from sharp in his first collegiate start, giving up the Gators’ 4-0 lead in the bottom of the frame with a four-spot and then coughing up two more in the third to tie it again at 6-6.

Nick Ficarrotta relieved Ursitti and finished things off, pitching the remainder of the game without giving up any more runs while allowing the offense to take over. A run in the sixth and a four-run ninth for the bats sealed the deal, sending the Gators on to the next round.

Here is a look below at some highlights from Florida’s big victory over Alabama on Saturday.
