Experts fear new COVID-19 peak in NSW

Public health experts have warned New South Wales could be on the verge of another COVID-19 peak as the effective reproduction number remains above one.

The state’s daily cases have averaged at 232 for the past seven days.

Meanwhile, Victoria’s effective reproduction number has dropped below one – indicating cases are declining – despite a seven-day average of 1,155.
