‘Double standards’: WA Premier grants cricketers border pass

6PR broadcaster Oliver Peterson says the WA government's plan to allow English and Aussie cricket teams to quarantine for only five days is “double standards”.

“And what does the Premier say yesterday? 'Sport's a good morale booster, it’s terrific for morale', well so is seeing your family, this is just hypocrisy, it’s double standards, and now I think he’s actually really losing the plot in the argument,” Mr Peterson told Sky News host Chris Kenny.

“I think the Premier saying sport is a good morale booster just shows he’s disconnect now from those who are separated by these hard border closures.

“It’s about showing some compassion and I really think it’s becoming very, very cruel and very, very apparent that if you’re a Hollywood actor or a sports star, you have a different rule than you do for West Australians even who are overseas or stuck in Sydney or Melbourne right now.”
