Doctor warns Queensland isn’t prepared for COVID-19 outbreak

With Queensland’s borders within days of reopening, a prominent doctor has warned the state’s health system isn’t up to scratch if a COVID-19 outbreak were to occur.

Dr Paul Griffin, the Director of Infectious Diseases at Mater Health Services, says while Queensland has done some “good work to be prepared,” he isn’t sure the state isn’t as prepared as they “would like to be”.

“But I think we’re getting there … what happens from here is in many ways, up to us.”
