Alert downgraded for Broome bushfire

A watch and act alert has been downgraded for a bushfire near Broome in Western Australia’s northwest.

However, authorities warn the threat of the fire still remains.

An advice level alert has been issued for residents in Willie Creek Pearl Farm in parts of Bilingurr and western Roebuck due to heavy smoke.

Total fire bans have been issued for parts of Western Australia.
