Accused Cleo Smith abductor pleads guilty to kidnapping


The Western Australian man accused of abducting four-year-old Cleo Smith has pleaded guilty to a charge of child stealing.

Terence Kelly fronted a Carnarvon court via video link on Monday and surprised prosecutors by pleading guilty to snatching Cleo from a campground and holding her captive for 18 days.

Charges against Kelly have been adjourned and he will remain in custody in a maximum security Perth prison.
